在林校長「英明」領導下，相信沒有其他學校的放學情況比現在的深校混亂。
某日，一年級放學。正常情況下，學生應由班主任帶隊到學校門口，班主任與家長相認後，學生方可被接走。但該日班主任卻差使其他老師代為帶隊放學，學生不免頑皮做反，趁老師不熟悉班中同學不守秩序。（此外，老師不認得學生家長，也會令學生出現潛在危險，可見林校長實在是管理不力。）
學生橫衝直撞奔跑出校門之際，班中某羅姓女生被同學撞至跌倒，頭部撞到地上，幸好傷勢不太嚴重。
羅家長向學校投訴，林校長卻不聞不問，只派出主任調停，以為可以息事寧人。後來家長非常不滿林氏輕率態度，一怒之下告上法庭，要求學校賠償數十萬元。
事件擾攘年半，雙方上庭多次。林斯茂從頭到尾只做縮頭烏龜，一次聆訊都沒有出席，將責任推到主任身上。最後法庭裁定，校方因疏忽需賠償家長港幣五萬元。
